Güzelyurt

Guzelyurt Archeology and Nature Museum
The most well-known tourist attraction of the Guzelyurt district is the Archeology and Nature Museum. The museum building, which was used as the Metropolitan until 1972, was renovated in 1979 after the Cyprus Peace Operation and turned into the Archeology and Nature Museum.
In the Archeology and Nature Museum, which consists of 2 floors, both archaeological artifacts from historical places such as the Ancient City of Soli and Vuni Palace, as well as stuffed animals living in Cyprus are exhibited. St. Mamas Church and Icon Museum
Mamas Church, one of the historical places in Güzelyurt, is located right next to the Archeology and Nature Museum. The church building, which has undergone many architectural changes until today, was finally rebuilt in 1725 and the dome was added during this time.
The church, which was built for St. Mamas, one of the important saints of the island of Cyprus, is open to visitors today. The items inside the church are exhibited as the Icon Museum. Tumba Tu Skuru
The history of Tumba Tu Skuru, which is located near the village of Kalkanlı in the north of Güzelyurt district, dates back to BC. It dates back to 1700. Tumba Tu Skuru, a settlement belonging to the Late Bronze Age, is located close to the district center and has touristic value.
The settlement, which was thought to be at the mouth of a river by the sea at the time it was founded, has moved away from the sea today as a result of the filling of the sea over time. Between 1971-1974 Prof. Excavations conducted by Harvard University and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts under the direction of Emily T. Vermeule have yielded a large number of clay, gold, bronze, silver and ivory artifacts.
